BOT – SPRAT

SPRAT was founded way back in 1998 by a banker turned management consultant, Mr Hasan Jowher, as a Division of his company called MANFIN INFOTECH LTD [then known as Jowher Managerial & Financial Services Pvt Ltd].

Later this informal trust became independent of MANFIN and came to be registered in 2002 as a public trust and society with a token corpus of Rs. 10,000 as the Society for the Promotion of Rational Thinking. However, later this expansion of SPRAT was amended as the Society for Promoting Rationality.

The following Trustees signed SPRAT’s instrument of registration and became the First Board of Trustees of the Registered organization:

Happy to have been born after Charles Darwin, Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins; to be able to avail of Internet, HDTV, colour printing, encyclopaedias; to be able to breathe in and speak up freely; to make friends from beyond familiarity and across barriers of prejudice, space and, hopefully, time.

Love to learn about almost everything, every way. Don’t have much, but feel rich enough to write this. Am involved with some social services through SPRAT [www.sprat.in] as a small payback for the goodness received.

I live singly but would welcome an exceptionally graceful and bright companion, specially a fellow activist or an accomplished artiste committed to human rights, secularism, rationality and empowerment of the impoverished people. Meanwhile I am generally able to make do with books, resident Interns, TV and internet.
