CHARITABLE TRUST/SOCIETY

The Registrar of Trusts and Charity Commissioner of Gujarat has granted registration under the
Bombay Public Trust Act.
SPRAT is registered both as a public charitable trust and also as a society

12-A-CERTIFICATE

The Department of income tax has registered SPRAT under Section 12A.
12A Registration for Trust or NGO is one time exemption obtained right after incorporation to be exempted from paying income tax.
Section 8 Company, Trusts and NGOs having 12A registration enjoy exemption from paying income tax on the surplus income of the Trust or NGO.

80-G-CERTIFICATE

An 80G certification is one that is granted to certain not-for-profit organisations / NGOs by the Indian Income Tax Department, after intense scrutiny. That is because this enables the donors of such NGOs to avail of certain deduction of their income tax calculated on their donations. Certain donations specified in section 80G are eligible for deduction up to 100%.Such NGos must first have a 12A registration.

SPRAT has enjoyed both these registrations from its early days.

FCRA

Charitable Trusts, Societies, and Section 8 Companies that receive foreign contributions or donations from foreign sources are required to obtain registration under Section 6(1) of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 2010. Such a registration under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 2010 is called a FCRA registration.

But such NGOs must first be registered with Darpan Portal of the Niti Aayog of Govt of India.

This Registration is granted by the Central Ministry of Home Affairs following IB clearance.

No more than 1.5% NGOs enjoy FCRA registration.

GIVE FOUNDATION

SPRAT has been affiliated with Give Foundation, not so much because it helped us garner resources, but to a large extent, because of the procedures it followed. We used this funding channel to streamline our processes and accountability.

NGO DARPAN

Government Ministries / Departments / Government Bodies, to start with. Later it is proposed to cover all Central Ministries / Departments / Government Bodies.

It is Offered by the NITI Aayog in association with National Informatics Centre to bring about greater partnership between government & voluntary sector and foster better transparency, efficiency and accountability.

SPRAT is a recognized member of NGO-DARPAN.

CREDIBILITY ALLIANCE

Credibility Alliance is engaged in Certification of organizations adhering to Accountability, transparency and Good Governance Norms and provides Accreditation due diligence support to NPO’s, corporate and resource agencies.
