Reality: To debunk this one, researchers closely monitored a herd of five adults and three young giraffes for 152 days, counting all of their naps and deep sleep. The animals typically slept overnight and napped in the afternoon (sound familiar?). In total, each giraffe slept about 4.6 hours every day.
