Kartik Sawhney’s dream of pursuing engineering from IIT came crashing down when he was denied from writing the entrance exams for three consecutive years. He then chose Stanford University, which had facilities to accommodate visually impaired students and was also awarded a fully funded scholarship. Kartik recalls those hard days where he had to write numerous letters to the Controller of Examinations, CBSE to let him pursue Science, the subject of his interest. He even scored 96% in this 12th board examinations. Kartik hopes to become a software developer and serve people with a wide range of disabilities. He says he was able to do all this because of his sheer determination and perseverance.
