Arun Krishnamurthy left his job at Google because of his passion for the environment. His relationship with nature started when he was in the 8th grade and was able to bring to notice the declining condition of a nearby lake to the President of Village Panchayat. At his time in Google, he worked tirelessly for lake conservation until he finally gave in to his passion and left his comfortable job. He founded the Environment Foundation of India, which has around 3400 volunteers in the age group of 12-22 years. All the cleaning drives are low cost and he doesn’t encourage any donations in cash but a donation of equipment are most welcome. His efforts have been recognized by many organizations.
